캔자스 주 상원의원의 회개기도

   Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and  guidance.
   하나님 아버지, 우리가 오늘 당신께 나아가서 우리를 용서하시고 우리의 갈바를 알려주시기를 간구합니다.
   We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those  who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.  
.  당신의 말씀은 '화있을진저 악을 선이라고 부르는 자들에게,'라고 말씀하고 있지만, 우리가 바로 그렇게 해왔습니다.

   We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values..
   우리는 영적인 균형을 잃었고 우리는 가치들을 전도시켰읍니다.

   We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.  
   우리는 가난한 자들을 착취하면서 그것을 복권이라고 불렀습니다.
   We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
   우리는 게으름을 보상해 주면서 그것을 복지라고 불렀습니다.

   We have killed our unborn and called  it choice.
   우리는 태어나지도 않은 아기들을 죽이면서, 그것을 선택이라고 불렀습니다. 
   We have shot abortionists and called  it justifiable.  
   우리는 낙태시술자들을 총으로 쏘고는 그것을 정당하다고 불렀습니다.
    We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem..
   우리는 자녀들을 잘 훈계하지 못하면서 그것을 자존감을 세우는 일이라고 불렀습니다.
   We have abused power and called it  politics.  
.  우리는 남용하는 권력을 정치라고 불렀습니다.
   We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.  
   우리는 이웃의 소유를 탐하면서 그것을 큰 뜻 이라고 불렀습니다.

    We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of ｅxpression!.  
.  우리는 불경한 것과 음란물로 방송 또는 공기를 오염시키며, 그것을 표현의 자유라고 불렀습니다.
   We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.  
   우리는 우리 조상들의 가치를 조롱하면서, 그것을 계몽이라고 불렀습니다.
   Search  us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today;  cleanse us from every sin and set us free.  Amen!
